Touch of Class was an internal magazine designed to share news, technical updates and views from across IR Class.

Firefly created the publication design for IR Class, a technical organisation working across shipping, marine safety and industrial inspection. The challenge was to present detailed information without making the magazine feel dense or difficult to read.

The design uses strong white space, clear type and a restrained blue palette. Large photographs and bold diagonal forms bring movement to the pages while reflecting the scale and structure of the marine and engineering sectors.

Each spread was shaped around its subject. Technical rules, industry updates and editorial articles were organised through clear headlines, short text columns and focused images. This helped create a strong reading order while giving each article its own visual character.

The cover uses a close view of weathered marine metal to bring together strength, age and the demanding conditions in which the organisation works. Its clean layout balances this rugged image with a modern editorial style.

The result was an internal magazine that made complex content easier to read while giving IR Class a clear and confident editorial voice.
